Is the Surgery Going to Hurt?

I perform nerve blocks on patients during surgery to minimize pain after surgery. Most patients have discomfort requiring prescription pain medication for 3-5 days and more mild soreness for another few weeks.

Some patients experience brief mild sensations of shock. This occurs as nerves recover from surgery after being stretched by the implant. These can come and go for up to a year, although they become rare after the first few weeks.
