Botox + Dysport

It’s often tough to put your finger on exactly what you dislike about changes in your face over time. However, these changes are quite universal to the trained eye. While there’s no fountain of youth, there are more options than ever to prevent and even reverse the universal signs of aging.

We see Botox and Dysport patients as young as 20 years old and as old as 97, and most patients are with us for life. The reality is that preventative maintenance to your skin with the use of Neurotoxins like Botox and Dysport can be a great way to delay aging signs without the need for surgery.

Topical anesthetic is applied prior to our procedures to minimize any of the minor discomfort associated with the injections, and appointments can take anywhere from 30 to 45 min.

How do Botox cosmetic and Dysport work?

Botox cosmetic and Dysport injections work by blocking the nerve signals to the muscles of the face. In our office Botox is used for dynamic wrinkles (those that appear with facial expression or movement,) excessive scars, reducing large pores, correcting the nasal tip, and for treatment of neck bands and cleavage wrinkles. However, the most common areas are the forehead and around the eyes.

How long  do Neurotoxins like Botox and Dysport last?

The results of Botox and Dysport injections can last between three and six months depending on your metabolisim and tolerance.

What to expect?

Botox injections for wrinkles involve several injections with a tiny 32 gauge needle. Most people tolerate the injections very well, but we also offer topical anesthetic in case you don’t tolerate injections well.

Cooling compresses are used to limit discomfort and bruising after the procedure. The area may be red for several minutes, but makeup can be used. You can go back to your normal activities immediately. Some patients have bruising in the injected areas, but this is rare.

How long does it take to see results?

The effects of the Botox are typically seen four to seven days later and last three to six months on average, though many patients report that it lasts longer after repeated use.

How much does Botox cost?

The cost of Botox is $15 per unit. The cost of Dysport is $ 5 per unit.

Can Botox be used as treatment for excessive sweating?

Absolutely. During the procedure, a small amount of Botox is injected into the affected underarm area through a very fine needle. In a short appointment, about 15 injections are made to the underarm area. The actual procedure takes about 10 to 15 minutes and lasts up to 201 days or 6.7 months.
