Fat Reduction

The number of fat cells stored in our bodies typically remains constant throughout adult life. As we lose weight, the size of fat cells become smaller, but do not decrease in number. Even with diet and exercise, many people have difficulty losing weight in these trouble areas.

While Liposuction may be the best option for some patients, many others find that non surgical fat reduction is their best option.

For those patinets Kybella andd Sculpsure are fantastic treatment options designes to treat stobborn fat in two very unique ways.

SculpSure

SculpSure is a non-invasive body contouring system for the reduction of stubborn fat. Each 25 minute procedure can destroy up to 24% of treated fat cells without surgery.  The procedure is FDA-cleared to reduce stubborn fat in the belly, love handles, back, thighs, and now under the chin, and its ideal for people with trouble spots, particularly those that seem resistant to diet and exercise. Though SculpSure is only FDA cleared for fat in the belly, love handles, back, thighs, and now under the chin..... As long as the frame fits, we can use it in that area to treat.

SculpSure is similar to other fat reduction treatments like CoolSculpting and Vanquish. All three treatments use technology to target and damage fat cells, allowing your body to naturally process them away. SculpSure uses a flat, non-suction applicator to bring the temperature of the fat up to 42 to 47 degrees Celsius (107.6 to 116.6 degrees Fahrenheit), a destructive temperature, while keeping the skin safe and cool.

Non surgical fat reduction

During the procedure most patients feel deep warmth and tingling sensations intermittently throughout the treatment, which is generally well-tolerated. There's no downtime following SculpSure treatments, and patients are free to resume their daily activities right away. While there's no actual downtime, it is recommended that patients stay well-hydrated for 24 to 36 hours after treatments. Patients are also asked to massage the treated areas three to four times a day for three days after the procedure. This minimizes the chance of any lumps or bumps.

After the procedure, patients may start to see results as early as 6 weeks following treatment as the body begins to eliminate the destroyed fat cells, with optimal results usually seen at 12 weeks.
The treated fat cells are destroyed during the treatment and will not regenerate.

Kybella

If you’re bothered by the fullness beneath your chin, you’re not alone. According to a 2015 survey conducted by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS): 67% of people are bothered by what healthcare providers call “submental fullness.” Submental fullness due to fat beneath the chin can impact a broad range of both male and female adults. Some possible causes are: genetics weight gain and aging. Sometimes, even with diet or exercise, the condition may not go away, and it could make you appear older or heavier than you actually are.  While surgery with chin liposuction can benefit some patients, we find that the vast majority are better served by the results available today with non surgcial treatment options.

KYBELLA® is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment to improve the appearance of moderate to severe fat beneath the chin* by physically destroying fat cells.

Kybella Before and after

How does it work?

•When injected into the area beneath your chin, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat

•The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat

•Fat cleared from the treatment area is processed through your body’s natural metabolism

How many treatments will I need?

We will help you determine how many treatment sessions you need based on the amount and distribution of your submental fat and your personal treatment goals. Up to 6 treatments may be administered, spaced no less than 1 month apart.

How long is the procedure?

KYBELLA® is given during an in-office visit. The injection process may take15 to 20 minutes.

What is the downtime like?

For most patients, downtime occurred most commonly after the first treatment session. You should be able to resume your daily activities, but are likely to have swelling, so keep your social plans and work commitments in mind when scheduling your treatment

How can I prepare for my treatment?

Prior to your treatment session, your healthcare provider may apply ice/cold packs or topical and/or injectable local anesthesia to the treatment area to make you more comfortable. After treatment, apply ice or a cold pack to the treatment area for 10 to 15 minutes, as needed.
